Dollywood

So this project is ridiculous looking, but is it more ridiculous-looking than any other Hollywood movie trailer? Abra and I were curious about the role that Hollywood plays in disseminating information, and the way that movies exploit the news and pervert actual events to make them sexy enough for mass media. We used standard trailer tropes to illustrate how Hollywood would overdramatize a relatively unsexy, nonviolent event - the cloning of Dolly the sheep a few years ago. The real irony in this assignment is that we are coming with the understanding that the news is less corrupt than the movie industry when we Know how network news functions. Still, I think you'll find the absurdity in this video all too familiar, and I want us to interrogate the idea of 'based on a true story' in our mass media more and more.
